7th Grade Parent Night at Lutheran High School (posted by Laurie Neil; 01/11/17)
Lutheran High School will be hosting a 7th grade Night for students interested in attending Lutheran High School in 9th grade. The Open House is on January 19th from 6:30-8:00pm and it's a great time for 7th grade families to come in and get to know LuHi. Families will have a chance to meet teachers and coaches, hear about our culture, learn about our teaching philosophy, and understand the admissions process. Middle School Dances (posted by Michele Quintana; 12/28/16)
2016-2017 School Dances
The Student Councils have planned for 3 middle school dances. The first dance was combined with both CP and MB students and took place at the Castle Pines campus. Due to space and other considerations, both Student Councils have decided that the remaining two dances of the year will take place at separate campuses.
For those parents new to the middle school scene, these “dances” are essentially a school social. We try to discourage the kids from asking “dates” or pairing off for these events, and no formal dress is ever required, though the Student Council will sometimes pick an optional fun theme and announce it to their classmates at school. We just want the kids to relax and have fun together!
Cross-campus dances are chaperoned by American Academy middle school staff from both campuses. With the help of a $5.00 admission fee, the student council provides a DJ and snacks for the evening.
All dances take place from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. We do ask that parents please plan to be on time to pick up students – the teacher chaperones are volunteering their Friday evenings so our kids can have a safe and fun place to hang out, and they have already put in a full day of teaching prior to setting up, chaperoning and cleaning up the dances. They are certainly very tired and ready to head home by 8:00 pm and on-time pick-ups are MUCH appreciated.
SCHOOL DANCE DATES: November 4 (Castle Pines), January 20 (at separate campuses), April 7 (at separate campuses)
